Can You Build Muscle When You're 64?

Back ... Way back in early 1970 -... I met a guy who was a welterweight boxing champion of the world for a few years ago, mid-1940th I was in my twenties and he was in his sixties. He was a very attractive gentleman and he challenged me to play chess, which turned into a few games, all won.
So much for his boxing brain damage. After that, he challenged me to a race of two hundred feet or so, I lost badly. Then, the arm wrestling, which he won easily, and let me just say that it is fit as a fiddle. He showed me all his photos and he knew everybody who was somebody, once upon a time.
In retrospect, some of the most memorable photos of him as a very young man. In some of these was 11 or 12 and he was lifting 100 pounds sacks of grain, as a young Hercules. In others, he was climbing a rope in a large barn, using only their hands, which is no small feat. This is something that I bet 99% of young people today could not do it.

...seven weeks into his program, he bought a bag of sour cream and onion potato chips, one of his favorite junk food. About a quarter way through the bag, he just stopped and threw them, because they are real funny taste. He has not eaten any today.
...What happens here is not surprising. Your body is like a computer and keeps track of everything you do. If you were once in very good condition, that the memory is contained in the brain. In his case, his body was recalling the memory of what is in good shape, including helping him to get there. Why? Because the body wants to function at optimum level. If not, it will adjust. No, you will also pay the price for this adaptation.
pharmaceutical grade fish oil will also help you to get in better shape, with better diet and exercise. They work hand in hand, and the sum of the parts is greater than any of the individual. Yes, a good diet, exercise is good and fish oil is good. You'll get some results with each, but you will achieve much greater results, using all three at the same time:
You can build muscle at any age and the more the better. If we had a rule that everyone had to walk 30 minutes every day, we could unload 20% of people still sitting in the doctor's office. This would reduce health care costs significantly, but we know it will happen.
